YG Confirmed Jang Hanna Will Not Be Part of up coming YG New Girl Group

It has been confirmed that Jang Han-na who was thought to be the No.1 candidate for the new girl group for which YG has been preparing with a big vision is not a member of the group.

As YG stated last year, Jang Hanna will be debuting as soloist. 

When the news that YG Entertainment will launch a new girl group in July was announced on May 18 to create sensation on-line, media outlets and fans were busy speculating about who the members of the new group will be out of YG’s girl trainees who have been exposed to the media so far. Many of them concluded that YG’s trainee Jang Han-na has the biggest possibility of becoming the member.

Jang Han-na joined YG after competing in SBS “K-Pop Star” show. She featured for JINUSEAN’s “Tell Me One More Time” and has drawn big attention from YG’s head producer YANG HYUN SUK. That is why music fans had no doubt for picking Jang as the possible member of YG’s new girl group. However, some staff of the new girl group’s music video said that Jang Han-na is not on the list of the cast.

An YG insider said, “As the preparation for the new girl group is underway behind the scenes, I cannot confirm about the members of the group”. However, he acknowledged the fact that Jang Han-na is not one of the final members of the new girl group.

According to multiple music industry insiders, the new girl group for which YG is preparing now targets global market, rather than domestic market alone. YG Entertainment shows bigger potential overseas than just in Korea and the overseas sales of the company have long surpassed domestic sales. It is expected that the new girl group of YG will have members optimized for global pop market, in order for YG to better respond to ever-growing global pop music market.

One insider explained, “Needless to say about BIGBANG and PSY, 2NE1 is one of handful of Korean girl groups who has held world tour concert. Not only rookie idol group WINNER but also iKON, the youngest group in YG, who debuted nine months ago, have also completed Japan tour and they are now doing Asian tour. It is highly likely that YG’s new girl group launched for the first time in seven years since the debut of 2NE1 will focus on their overseas career from the very beginning”.

Some even say that the members of YG’s new girl group are fluent in English and Japanese and they are now learning even Chinese. The whole music industry is paying keen attention to the new girl group YG will launch for the first time in seven years to target the global market.
